How do I register?
How big are VOOVit boxes?

The boxes have about the same volume as a large suitcase.
Can I send my own boxes or suitcases ?
Yes, we can accept your own boxes or suitcases. Though it is important that they are strong enough for the journey; boxes should be double-wall cardboard or better, bags should be strong and you should be able to lock them.
Plastic storage boxes are not acceptable.
Is there a limit to the size of item I can send?
The longest acceptable single dimension of a package is 150cms
The maximum weight of a single item is 30kg.
We cannot accept packages with a grith exceeding 200cms. (Length + Width + Height = Girth) .
Furniture
We will accept some flat packed furniture but not large items of furniture or domestic appliances. We need the weight and dimensions (length x width x height) of the packed item to provide a price.
Cars and Motorcycles
We are unable to accept cars and motorcycles for shipment to any destination.
Is the service door to door?
No, the service we offer is door to port. This means we will deliver and collect the boxes from your front door here in the UK but you will have to make your own arrangements for collection at destination.
We don't offer door-door service because VOOVit.com is set up to offer the lowest cost solution and we have found that it is much cheaper for customers to arrange customs clearance and home delivery locally. We are sure you will appreciate trucking companies and clearance agents anywhere in the world will add a much bigger mark-up when billing someone overseas rather than a paying customer on their doorstep. This gives you the freedom to shop around for the best deals available locally rather than having to pay heavily marked-up prices in advance.
All collections and deliveries are to the down stairs front of the building, the driver will not help you move boxes within your home.
Are there any extra charges I should know about?
At destination you will have to pay a charge at the port, typically the amount payable is around US$75 though the amount payable varies between ports. When you register you will receive an email with details of the charges payable at your selected port.
Not really extra charges, the following are charges that will only be applied in specific circumstances.
Additional box delivery.
The first delivery of boxes is included in the price. If you need more boxes and require another delivery you will be charged £20.00 per delivery.
Wasted Journey.
If we call to collect your boxes on the day you instruct and you are not at home or the boxes are not ready you will be charged £15.00.
Unable to deliver.
If we are unable to deliver your shipment because there is no one home re-delivery will be attempted, usually the following working day; there is no extra charge for this second delivery attempt. If however there continues to be no one home on subsequent delivery attempts the shipment will either be returned to origin address or held in storage at a local depot, we reserve the right to charge £10.00 per day for storage or additional fee's for return shipment of the items.
Mis-declaration
If you despatch more items than you have paid for, or any single item exceeds 30kg or has dimensions greater than you have declared a minimum charge of £60.00 per item despatched will be made.
Storage in the UK.
If you tell us to store your boxes will charge £10.00 per week or part. This amount will increase for consignments of 11 or more boxes.
Document Amendment
If after you have completed the on-line documentation, this could be either the destination details form or the packing list, and changes are required there is a £15.00 minimum charge. Changes to the name of either the Shipper or Recipient has a minimum charge of £40.00.
The longer after departure the amendment is made the higher the charge is likely to be as declarations to ship owners, and various customs services will have been made and will need amendment.
You will receive full written instructions on completion of both forms with the email you receive on payment of the deposit.
Marking boxes / Box Identification
If you do not write your name and address on the boxes or write a name other than your own without advising us there is a minimum charge of £20.00 per box for marking and identification.
Unused boxes.
£2.50 per box. We are happy for you to order one or two more boxes than you think you need rather than have you run out of space and have to order more boxes, in most cases there would be no charge for the unused boxes. See scale below.

How long does it take to reach the destination?
When you register you will receive an email with details of the transit time to your chosen destination.
This is the approximate time it takes the ship to arrive at the destination once it leaves the UK, it is not the time from when your boxes are collected in the UK. In normal circumstances your boxes would be on the ship no more than 3-4 weeks after collection.
Why do I have to register?
When you register you will receive an email confirmation of the standard price to your chosen destination as well as information of what is included and excluded in the price.
Registered users also receive email news of special offers.
We do not sell or share your information with any other company, nor will we send you emails that are un-related to VOOVit.com. You can choose to be removed from our mailing list at anytime, and everyone is automatically removed from the mailing list within 2 months of the departure date they have given.
You will need to have completed a registration to order boxes and proceed with your shipment.
It costs nothing to register and there is no commitment for you to use VOOVit.com

How do I register?
Enter the details of your shipment on the start page , these do not need to be exact at this stage, you can change things later.
You then complete the registration form, this records your details and that of your shipment. You will then be able to logon to our registered user area and continue with the process.
